Wounds too filthy for religion to touch.
Cries too sorrowful for culture to hear.
Pain too bloody for society to see.
An appearance too shipwrecked for policies to assess.
Behaviour too shameful for family to accept.

All along, I didn’t know me.

But then God.

The heart beneath Siloam & Co.

Christ sees the person where systems, religion, culture or society have named the condition before seeing the human.

He is steadfast in His love.
He is faithful in His keeping.
He is merciful in His forgiving.
He is gracious in His leading.

His burden is light and His yoke is easy because He gives what He requires. He sustains and He remains.

He saw me.

Not cursed.
Not disqualified.
Not abandoned.

He saw His beloved, His sojourner and His steward.

And in the very place where others pronounced me cursed, He appointed Siloam & Co. and declared:

“Fear Not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name. You are Mine.”
